[Must Read] God can use your trials to set you free

You let captors set foot on our neck; then we went through fire and water and you led us out to freedom” (Psalm 66:12 NAB).
You’ll face trials in life, no doubt about it.
But God will use them to free you.
In fact, sometimes what others expect will enslave you, God uses to liberate you. He’ll use them to set you free from the expectations and opinions of others.
The Bible says it like this: “You let captors set foot on our neck; then we went through fire and water and you led us out to freedom” (Psalm 66:12 NAB).
God wants you to be free. The Bible says the truth will set you free. But truth often comes with a high cost.
Four years ago my youngest son died. You might have heard the story. He had struggled with mental health his entire life. He had a troubled mind but a tender heart.
The day he took his life was the worst day of my life. I’ll never forget it.
But to make matters worse, Satan tried to take advantage of it. Critics came out in full force, saying horrible things about my family. You’d see them on TV, in magazines, and on blogs. They celebrated and laughed at his death. It was brutal, public, and constant. I thought I was going through Hell itself.
But God walked with me every step of the way. During this time, someone asked me how I was doing and I responded, “Honestly, I feel fearless.”
I wasn’t afraid. All I kept thinking was, “Satan, is that all you can throw at me? Are those critics the best you have?”
I’m not afraid of anything anymore. I’m living for an audience of one. Sometimes God uses tough times to wean you off an addiction to other people’s approval. You just don’t need it to be happy.

Must Read] Revealed way of becoming more like Jesus

Revealed way of becoming more like Jesus
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze”(Isaiah 43:2 NIV).
The heat is on.
No one likes that feeling. It happens when pressure gets tight, when deadlines get close, and when expectations get intense.
Daniel had three friends who experienced the heat being on them — both figuratively and literally — in Daniel 3.

When Daniel’s friends wouldn’t bow in worship to a statue of King Nebuchadnezzar, the king angrily had his men toss them into a fire and turn up the heat seven times hotter.
Literally, the heat was on.

But God walked with them through it.
The Bible says, “Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, ‘Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?’ They replied, ‘Certainly, Your Majesty.’ He said, ‘Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods’” (Daniel 3:24-25 NIV).

Of course, you and I know it wasn’t “a son of the gods” in there with those guys. It was Jesus — the only Son of God. He was walking through the fire with them.
And he’ll walk through the fire with you, too.
Jesus tells us, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20b NIV).

The Bible tells us you’ll never be alone. God will always be there with you and for you.
In Isaiah 43:2 God says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze” (NIV).

Notice the Bible doesn’t say if you pass through the waters; it says when you pass through the waters.
You will have troubles. But Jesus will always walk with you through them.

[Must] How to conquer problems easily |See

How to conquer problems easily
Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own”(Jeremiah 33:3b The Message).

Daniel gives us a great example for how to handle an impossible situation. When asked to interpret King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in Daniel 2, Daniel responded in a manner we can model.

In recent devotionals, I’ve told you that Daniel didn’t panic, and that he tried to understand why the king made the request. He also asked for more time, and then gathered a prayer team.

Daniel also prayed and asked for God to give supernatural help. A Supernatural help is all what we need to conquer problems that tries to over whelm us in this end time.

It has already been said in the Gospel word of God Matt. 24:6, that time will come when we will hear rumours of war, nations rising against nation and others, all this things are already happening, we don't need to panic just ask God for his intervention and he will answer you.

When you’re put in an impossible situation, your talent, logic, and education won’t solve your problem, it is only by going down in your kneels and ask God for a solution.
That’s why you pray and ask God for his supernatural help.

God told Jeremiah, who lived at the same time as Daniel: “Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own” (Jeremiah 33:3b The Message).
That’s what Daniel needed. He needed the Lord to show him what he would never be able figure out on his own. Trying to survive on your own in this perilous time is not gonna help, involving your self in things God has told us to flee from to get things done easily won't help.

Daniel could guess for a thousand years and never figure out the king’s dream. But God could tell him in an instant.

The Bible says we don’t have because we don’t ask.
So many times we miss out on God’s best simply because we never ask him for it.
I’ve seen God do this over and over again in my life. I’ve faced big odds that I couldn’t fathom solving on my own.

Let me tell you a little story of how God saved me just because i asked from him when i was in my college. During the Midsession of the school activities we do have tests, i being a very serious student, always reading my books, visiting the library, meeting the teachers after classes for further explanation of what has been taught, but yet there is this subject I couldn't understand, I have tried all my possible best but seem impossible. I lost hope on passing that subject, thank God for revealing to me on how he could save through prayers, so I prayed and asked God for his supernatural understanding and wisdom as he gave Solomon in the Gospel book. You could imagine that I was now the one teaching my fellow students on that subject. That's how God works.

And God has answered. My life is a series of answered prayers.
I want God to do the same for you. All you need to do now is to ask him for forgiveness in any way you must have done thins wrongly, then ask for what ever you need
Will you ask him for his best for your life?

[Must read] Is having sex with my girlfriend a sin? | See

Run from sin
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these,  Adultery, Fornication, uncleanliness, Lasciviousness, Galatians 5:19.

It is very significant that all the first four works of flesh mentioned in the Bible (Galatians 5:19) are done of sexual immorality. Sexual immorality is so gracious to God that Paul warned, "But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality....." (Ephesians 5:3). We shall discuss on fornication.

Fornication refers to sexual immorality between two persons neither of whom is married, in a more simple way, fornication means having sex before marriage. In the word today Fornication is common to many youths, you will find out that youths who are in a relationship can't do without this immoral act forbidden by God. You May ask, how is it bad having fun with my girl friend? Let's look at 1Corintians 6:15-20, the Bible made it clear that Fornication is a sin,  and also warned us to flee from it.

God really hates Fornication, it was mentioned in the Bible many times almost than any other sin.
1Corinthians 10:8-9, Neither let's commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand, verse 9: Neither let us tempt Christ,  as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

See Also: Urgent Roles of Christians in this decaying world

Example of Fornication in the Bible was the event between Shechem and Dinah (Genesis 34:1-31), One-day, Dinah went out to interact with other girls in the city of Canaan. Shechem saw her, and committed fornication with her, after which he proposed to marry her. Young people toady do indulge in this act, in the name of courtship, you will see a Male and a female living together, yet they are not married, instead they are committing all sort of immoral acts. God is bringing to our notice that he hates it.

Consequences of Fornication

  1. They bring God's name into disrepute (2Sam. 12:13-14)
  2. They hinder the presence and move of God in one's life and in the church.  (1 Correct.  5:1-5)
  3. Sexually transmitted diseases.
  4. Death
  5. Calamity on oneself,  family, society (Gen. 34:1-31)
  6. Shame and disgrace,  loss of status or position through the scandal (pro. 6:26).
  7. Enternal destruction (Hell fire).
How to avoid Fornication
  • Avoid every thought, conversation, Music, books, picture, movie, etc, that can pollute your heart with sexual feelings or emotion.  (Pro. 4:23, Matt. 15:18-20, James 1:13-15)
  • Do not compromise any seductive situation or relationship (1Cor. 15:33, Pro. 5:1-13)
  • Marry a fellow Christian under God's guidance with whom you can share sexual intimacy (1 Cor. 7:1-2) , Heb. 13:4).
So in 1gospel let's amend our ways as we have seen that having sex in a relationship not ordained is a sin, let's flee from it and out life with be straight both physically, spiritually, academically, and otherwise.

[Must Read] Flee from this things (1gospel)

Flee from this things
1Tim 6:11, 1Cor 6:9, 1John 3:8
Everyone should understand there are things that can destroy our faith. It night be appealing to our flesh, Proverb 16:25.

Having viewed the portions of the bible above, we will come to understand there are things God requires us to stop. We must stop things he said we should stop, so that he will record us as his children. You can't be a christian and still be committing sin.

So through this message we shall outline the things which Gud wants us to flee from. (Like one of the messages my pastor, Lazarus mouka; he said "Mark them and avoid them")

Things God wants us to flee from. (1Cor. 6:9)

  1. Fornication
  2. Idolatry
  3. Adultery
  4. Effeminate
  5. Abusers of themselves with mankind (homosexual, lesbianism)
  6. Covetousness
  7. Theft Etc
There are many things we are to flee from. And if we refuse to flee we will land in hell fire. Rev. 21:8.
God dies not entertain evil, he hates evil 1peter 1:15-16, Hab. 1:13. If you look at it here you will see God has a purer eyes to look at sin, but if you live in holiness, Gud will live very well with you Isaiah 59:1.
God doesn't answer a sinner,  Heb. 12:14, here we also have to flee from malice, quarrel, so that we will also be at peace with God. Let us serve God in holiness and righteousness, so we will make heaven.
Check this portions if the bible to know more things you should flee from.(Matt.5:21:22, 5:27-28, 5:33-37).

So in summary we need to search our self, so we will know the area, we are to flee from. I'd we have sinned we are to do restitution and repent. Doing restitution is hard but when done the shame will only last for 2months. So we must purge ourselves from every sin. 1Cor. 6:9-10. A Christian is not a sinner, a sinner is not a Christian, flee from all this things and live Godly, never be quick to get the things of this world.

How to begin learning with success

How to begin learning with success
Never stop reciting these teachings. you want to have faith in them night and day so you may reliably do everything written in them. solely then can you prosper and succeed” (Joshua 1:8 GW).

To really surpass in no matter you’re learning (whether it’s a brand new ability, a brand new theory, or a few new person), you want to initial steep yourself in God’s Word.

I selected the word steep by design. does one grasp what it means that to steep a tea bag? you are taking a tea bag out, dunk it in predicament, and bounce it up and down. You can’t do this quickly. You won’t have any tea. you wish to try to to it slowly. once you do this, you extract all of the flavour out of that tea bag.

You need to try to to an equivalent factor with God’s Word if you wish to essentially surpass in no matter you’re learning. You don’t bang chop-chop. i feel in reading. I bang oft. however I ne'er speed-read the Bible. I browse it slowly, word by word. Why? The Bible says each word of God is pure.

Before you learn something, begin by steeping yourself in God’s Word. It’s the key to being thriving.

Everyone needs to succeed. you wish to reach your career. you wish to reach your relationships. you wish to reach your learning. The Bible provides clear counsel to anyone World Health Organization needs to succeed.

[Must Read] How to cope with your faith and Education | See

Faith, education
When your education test your faith, you have three choices.....

In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Timothy 3:12 NIV).

Education is vitally important to all of us. It’s one of the few parts of our lives that should never end. We should always be learning. The Bible describes it as a key to a successful life (Proverbs 19:8).
But like anything so important, we have to guard it. We have to ensure that our learning draws us closer to God and doesn’t pull us away from him.
That starts with a decision.
You have to decide in advance to stand for God.
The time to think through your loyalty to God isn’t when you’re learning something new. It’s before you even start.

The Bible tells us, “In the world you have tribulation” (John 16:33b NASB).
This verse doesn’t say “you might” have troubles. It doesn’t say “if” you have troubles. It says you will have troubles. And that includes your education. Your faith will be tested by your education. No doubt about it.
In 2 Timothy 3:12 we read, “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (NIV).

If you’re not suffering any persecution in your life, it may indicate you’re not living an entirely godly life. It may mean you’re trying to be a chameleon where some people don’t know you’re a Christian.

Count on being tested in your education. You can fail a big math test. But you can’t fail the most important test you’ll ever take — the test of your faith. It has eternal consequences.

Read Also: Every Storm is a school, every trial is a teacher

When your education tests your faith, you have three choices:

You can take a dive. You withdraw and just drop your faith.
You can withdraw. You simply compartmentalize your life, and you don’t let God’s Word impact what you’re learning.
You can determine to thrive. You choose to run what you’re learning through the filter of God’s Word.

That’s what Daniel and his friends did in the first chapter of Daniel. Before going through the king’s indoctrination program, Daniel “made up his mind not to defile himself” (Daniel 1:8a NLT).
Daniel and his friends didn’t let phony ideas blow up their faith. Neither should you.

Decide from the start you’ll protect your mind. Decide you’ll run everything through a biblical filter. That’s how you thrive in your education — and your faith. And use this filter no matter how old you are or where you are in life — God wants you to be a lifelong learner, which means you’ll face lifelong challenges to your faith.

Remember that God is for you, not against you, when you’re being tested. He’s guiding you into a deeper faith and a closer relationship with him.

[Must Read] powerful ways to deal with No - win situation

Dealing with impossie situations
“Get the facts at any price”(Proverbs 23:23a TLB).

Has someone ever asked you to do something you thought was impossible? Maybe a friend, a boss, or a parent came to you and wanted you to do something that seemed too big for you.

You may be facing such a request right now. You’re wondering how in the world you’ll get started.
Over the next few devotionals, I’ll share with you what the Bible says about tackling the impossible.
But let’s begin by talking about where to start.

First, don’t panic.
Follow the pattern of Daniel. In Daniel 2, King Nebuchadnezzar went to his astrologers with a desperate need for them to interpret a dream. When they couldn’t do it, he planned to execute them. Then he sent someone to get Daniel.

The Bible says, “When Arioch, the commander of the king’s guard, had gone out to put to death the wise men of Babylon, Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and tact” (Daniel 2:14 NIV).

The most powerful man on the planet had ordered the assassination of Daniel — and his friends. When the king’s hit man showed up to kill him, the 17-year-old handled the situation with wisdom and discretion. Not bad for a young, teenage kid.

Daniel didn’t panic. Neither should we.
Instead of panicking, Daniel learned all the facts and sought to understand the motivation behind the king’s request.
The gospel Bible says, “He asked the king’s officer, ‘Why did the king issue such a harsh decree?” Arioch then explained the matter to Daniel’” (Daniel 2:15 NIV).

When someone asks you to do the impossible, you need to understand why. You need all the facts.

The king was scared to death. When people are panicking, they get emotional. They start making illogical requests. You need to understand why before moving ahead.
Proverbs 23:23a says it this way: “Get the facts at any price”(TLB).

So if you’re asked to do the impossible, don’t panic. Get all the facts.
We’ll look at other steps to take when you’re in this situation in the next few devotionals.

[Must Read] God test with stress before trusting with success

Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but the Lord tests the heart” (Proverbs 17:3 NLT).

You could watch a million hours of television and movies without finding a story as thrilling as the story the Bible tells about Daniel. Think Raiders of the Lost Ark and Mission Impossible all rolled into one.

The Bible follows Daniel’s life from the age of 15 until he’s 85. And every step of his story is breathtaking. Over the next few weeks, we’ll study Daniel’s life and explore key truths that we can apply to our lives today.

When Daniel was still a teenager, the Babylonians put down a rebellion in Judah and took some of the Israelites into captivity. Because Daniel was healthy, knowledgeable, and perceptive, he was taken as a prisoner to be trained for service in the king’s court (Daniel 1:1-7).
And then God tested him because God tests us with stress before God trusting us with success. God had big plans for Daniel. There are only two men in all of history that God told what the end of the world would be like: Daniel and the apostle John. God gave Daniel the job to communicate that message first to Israel and then to the whole world through the Bible. But before God could trust Daniel with this message, God gave him stress. God gave Daniel a test.

The Bible says in Proverbs 17:3, “Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but the Lord tests the heart” (NLT).

If God’s going to use you, he’s going to test you first. He wants to be sure you’re ready to handle the power, the blessing, the influence, or whatever else he wants to give you.

The Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar, put Daniel and other young men into a three-year indoctrination program. He wanted to wipe out their memories of Israel and to secularize them. They were taught a new language, a new culture, a new religion, and new habits. The Babylonians were trying to reprogram Daniel and these other young men, and prepare them to serve in the royal court.
But the king faced unexpected opposition when he tried to change Daniel’s diet, which he followed in obedience to God’s commands.
The Bible says, “Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way” (Daniel 1:8 NIV).

In essence, the king told Daniel to forget God and the spiritual values he’d followed his whole life. But Daniel wouldn’t do that, and so he passed the test.
God will give you a similar test. It won’t look exactly the same. But God will test your character. God wants to know if he can trust you with success. And the good news: God is right there with you helping you to succeed.

Rocktown boss, Gospel singer, worshipper, Adviser, a role model, instrumentalist, lyrist, who recently encouraged a Secular musician who wants to join the gospel trend to come on with it, has again given a talk sense to the youths of today.

In his statement Frank Edward said people are not to spend money on irrelevant material things unless its being used for work, he made emphasis on the new Apple product iPhone x which is trending in the market. He said people save their money to get this product just because their friends are using, which is not suppose to so, if you really want to have it make sure you are using it for something useful and not to show off. With the sad look on his face he said, even people that are not really updated won't get it to make life useful for them yet they go on getting it just to own it to impress who?.

1 Powerful Characteristics of Disciples of Jesus | 1gospel

Jesus disciples
Wise men and women are always learning, always listeningfor fresh insights” (Proverbs 18:15 The Message).
All leaders are learners. There are no exceptions. If you’re teaching in a classroom, caring for kids as a stay-at-home parent, or serving in a customer service role, you’re leading someone. And to do that more effectively, you need to keep learning.
When you stop learning, you start dying. It’s that simple.

No matter how old you are and no matter what kind of career you’re in, you need to be learning. Pick up a new skill. Study a fresh topic. Read a new book. Start a new Bible study.

The Bible says in Proverbs 18:15, “Wise men and women are always learning, always listening for fresh insights”(Proverbs 18:15 The Message).
One of the most important roles you have in life is as a student. Jesus wants us to be disciples. That’s just another word for learner. You’re learning what it means to follow Christ.
Disciples of Jesus keep learning. They never stop.

When I was 14 years old, I started reading two books a week. At one point in my life, I was reading a book a day. I now have more than 35,000 books in my library. Why? The people you hang out with and the books you read will determine your future.

You’ll do yourself a favor when you keep learning. The Bible teaches us, “Those who get wisdom do themselves a favor, and those who love learning will succeed” (Proverbs 19:8 NCV).

6 Powerful ways of becoming a better thinker | See

Thinking big
Do you want to master the process of good thinking? Do you want to be a better thinker tomorrow than you are today? Then you need to engage in an ongoing process that improves your thinking. I recommend you do the following:

1. Expose Yourself to Good Input
Good thinkers always prime the pump of ideas. They always look for things to get the thinking process started, because what you put in always impacts what comes out. Read books, review trade magazines, listen to tapes, and spend time with good thinkers. And when something intrigues you—whether it’s someone else’s idea or the seed of an idea that you’ve come up with yourself—keep it in front of you. Put it in writing and keep it somewhere in your favorite thinking place to stimulate your thinking.

2. Expose Yourself to Good Thinkers
Spend time with the right people. As I worked on this section and bounced my ideas off of some key people (so that my thoughts would be stretched), I realized something about myself. All of the people in my life whom I consider to be close friends or colleagues are thinkers. Now, I love all people. I try to be kind to everyone I meet, and I desire to add value to as many people as I can through conferences, books, audio lessons, etc. But the people I seek out and choose to spend time with all challenge me with their thinking and their actions. They are constantly trying to grow and learn.

3. Choose to Think Good Thoughts
To become a good thinker, you must become intentional about the thinking process. Regularly put yourself in the right place to think, shape, stretch, and land your thoughts. Make it a priority. Remember, thinking is a discipline. Recently I had breakfast with a friend of mine who normally devote his time thinking all day, he said he had what he calls “thinking schedule.” It helps him to fight the hectic pace of life that discourages intentional thinking. Dan says he sets aside time just to think for half a day every two weeks, for one whole day every month, and for two or three full days every year. Dan explains, “This helps me ‘keep the main thing, the main thing,’ since I am so easily distracted.” You may want to do something similar, or you can develop a schedule and method of your own. No matter what you choose to do, go to your thinking place, take paper and pen, and make sure you capture your ideas in writing.

4. Act on Your Good Thoughts
Ideas have a short shelf life. You must act on them before the expiration date. World War I flying ace Eddie Rickenbacker said it all when he remarked, “I can give you a six-word formula for success: Think things through —then follow through.”

5. Allow Your Emotions to Create another Good Thought
To start the thinking process, you cannot rely on your feelings. In Failing Forward, I wrote that you can act your way into feeling long before you can feel your way into action. If you wait until you feel like doing something, you will likely never accomplish it. The same is true for thinking. You cannot wait until you feel like thinking to do it. However, I’ve found that once you engage in the process of good thinking, you can use your emotions to feed the process and create mental momentum. Try it for yourself. After you go through the disciplined process of thinking and enjoy some success, allow yourself to savor the moment and try riding the mental energy of that success. If you’re like me, it’s likely to spur additional thoughts and productive ideas.

Read Also: How to get ideas

6. Repeat the Process
One good thought does not make a good life. The people who have one good thought and try to ride it for an entire career often end up unhappy or destitute. They are the one-hit wonders, the one-book authors, the one-message speakers, the one-time inventors who spend their life struggling to protect or promote their single idea. Success comes to those who have an entire mountain of gold that they continually mine, not those who find one nugget and try to live on it for fifty years. To become someone who can mine a lot of gold, you need to keep repeating the process of good thinking.

3 causes of unhealthy Fear you don't know |See

Fear
a. SinA sinful man is a fearful man. In other words, sin is directly proportional to fear and so, the more we commit sin, the more we are exposed to unhealthy fear. Why is it so? When sin takes away the fear if God in us, unhealthy fear sets in to replace the love of God. When this happens, instead of clinging to God,we run away from him. Wherever sin is at work, unhealthy fear rules; complete love for God which is evident in complete obedience to his commandments abolishes all fears.

When you know God's words and commandments and make effort to practice every crumb of it, you will rarely be a candidate of unhealthy fear because, at every point in your life, there must be a portion of Gods word with which you can overcome and subdue any unhealthy fear; but when we are living in sin, the reverse become  the case because human soul is in love union with 'truth', and every sin committed is against the truth. As a result, sin breaks or becomes a barrier to the love-union of the soul and truth. This in turn becomes the basis of unhealthy fear. In St. John's Gospel, Christ says: The peace I give is not like the world gives, so do not be afraid or troubled". (John 14:27).

b. Shame: shame is generally known to be a heavy feeling of being unacceptable. It is a feeling that one thing or the other needs 'healing'. Not all shame is bad. This led to the classification of shame into two:
a. Healthy Shame
b. Unhealthy shame

Healthy shame: This is the feeling of guilt, sadness and embarrassment you have when you know that something you have done is wrong or stupid. Healthy shame is virtue and it is meant to be present bin every 'normal' human being. It tells us what is really wrong in us that needs to be corrected. It also hinders us from acting foolishly. This is a type of shame that makes you not to be nude in public or to dress immodestly. People that are in possession of this type of shame have food moral standards.
It is this type of shame that differentiates a mad person from a normal person. Mad people lack this type of shame; that is why they can walk about in public naked; they can defecate in public and so on. Let us look at the reverse side of healthy shame.

Unhealthy shame: Merle Fossum was referring to this type of shame when he said:
A pervasive sense of shame is the ongoing premise that is fundamentally bad, inadequate, defective, unworthy or not fully valid as a human being.
Unhealthy shame is false and it lingers for a long time; weighing the victim down. The pain of this type of shame is this: it is not a signal of something that is really wrong in us that needs to be made right. That is why it is a 'false' feeling; because it saps our creative power and kills our joy. Nobody deserves this type of shame because we are not as bad as the feeling tells us we are. Unhealthy shame has a strong relationship with fear because both of them are capable of draining ones happiness and joy.

c. Doubt: Doubt is simply a feeling of uncertainty. In other words, it is a belief that us in need of evidence and conviction. We fear what we doubt. That is why, when you doubt the possibility of something coming true, fear sets in; when you doubt the possibility of accomplishing a task, you may end up not starting it at all. A student who doubt's his/her ability to write an examination and pass may become afraid of facing the examination especially if it cannot be avoided.

Implications of unhealthy Fear
o On progress: Unhealthy fear is a canker that eats deep into one's existence. It is an enemy we must fight and win in order to make headway. We do not deserve to fear anything. Only God deserves our fear and reverence. Whenever an action is being carried out in fear, the result is always ridiculous. That is why fear hinders and paralyses the victim. It can make you chase a mere shadow; spending your time, energy and resources in fighting something that does not exist.

o On health : The negative impression if unhealthy fear can not be emphasized. Our health is not set out once fear sets in. This is because there is a relationship between the mind and man's health. The condition of the mind influences the state of one's health. This theory is called psychosomatism. When you are living in fear (unhealthy fear), your health status is also influenced negatively. The most popular psychosomatic diseases include: low immunity, insulin imbalance, Hypertension, Arthritis, Heart diseases.

o On spirituality: Fear hinders and paralyzes our spirits. This it does by bringing about depression and worry which are among the major factors that deplete ones spiritual strength. Fear also destroys our faith and trust in God making our spirits prone to calamities.

See | Hidden facts about FEAR you don't know.

Christian life hints

Generally, fear is known to be feeling of insecurity, a feeling of impending danger. From any angle one may consider it, fear makes one not to act as he/she intended to. Fear paralyzes the faculty of imagination, vision and insight, and kills self reliance. It encourages procrastination;thinking that things will take a better shape as time elapses, but the reverse is always the case because, as time elapses, if fear is not subdued, it becomes stronger.

Fear makes self control so difficult if not impossible. It destroy the possibility if accurate thinking. It diverts power into nothingness, destroys ambitions, blurred memory and invites failure of different forms. Fear makes loving difficult by first, devouring the wonderful emotions if the heart. This discourages friendship God and with men. All this invites disaster into one's life and can lead to sleeplessness; misery, sadness and so many other similar vices.
It was that David Ofondu in his book ACHIEVING YOUR DESTINY said:"It is very difficult for a man of fear to get to the height of greatness because success is full of risk and a man full
of fear always sees failure in anything he wants to do".

One if the most dangerous qualities of fear is its calm nature. Fear can exist in somebody for a very long time without the person knowing it. Though always calm, but it is deeply rooted. Whenever and where ever fear is in existence, it controls every affair if the individual.

From the explanation given above about fear, you may be forced to ask in some portions of the Bible, God request that we fear him; as in Prov. 14:17 which reads "Fear of the lord is a life giving fountain"
While in some other portions, God encourages us not to fear: Do not be afraid for I am with you" (Isiah 43:5). I have come to understand that fear has two faces. While God despises one, he supports the other:
Healthy fear (fear of God)
Unhealthy fear

1. Healthy concept of fear - The fear of God
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. (Prov. 9:10). The fear of God is the reverence one has for God due to his supremacy. This type of fear is always accompanied by righteousness. Thus Solomon said: " All who fear the lord hate evil, That is why I hate pride, arrogance  corruption and perverted speech, "(Prov. 8:13). This the fear that makes one not to offend God because of his goodness and faithfulnessis the fear of God that makes one to obey God by keeping and so the bible says: "In every nation, God accepts those who dear him and do what is right". (Act 10:35). The fear of God brings one so close to God that every week there fear is subdue. That was why David in Psalm 23:4 said:" Even when I walk through the valley of death, I will not be afraid".

2. Unhealthy Fear - Fear as a negative passion
Passions are energetic feelings emanating from the heart, some of the major passions found in man are love, jealousy, anger, hatred, fear etc.
Fear is a passion because it is rooted in the mind. Reverence to any being or thing at the expense of God is unhealthy fear. This is the type of fear Aristotle was referring to when he said" Fear is pain arising from anticipation of evil". Psychologically, this kind of fear handicaps your intellect, making it unable to access the reality of what you fear. Spiritually, it weighs you down by making you doubt the omnipotence of God. It was on this note that Francis Bacon said: "it is a miserable state of mind to have few things to desire and many things to fear". Unhealthy fear is an intellectual handicap because once one is gripped by it any action carried out becomes dubious. That is why it is a great enemy of human existence; its effect on the victim is always disastrous.
Fear does not just exist in a twinkle of an eye. It involves and passes through series of stages before maturation. The earliest stage is indecision. With time, indecision crystallizes into doubt. This two then blend slowly into fear. Futton sheen compared fear to love when he said" Fear actually is relayed to love as all are passions; but love is an attraction for an object, while fear is a flight from it". Fear makes one to avoid many things even the necessary things that need to be done in order to make a head way in life.

Factors that promote unhealthy fear
Poverty - Some people are not trustworthy in matters of money and earthly possessions. This is because, Man's so much afraid of facing poverty that he is ready to acquire riches by any possible means - good or evil. What most people don't understand is that money is only a snippets of paper, but there are higher treasures in man which cannot be bought with money.

Criticism - An act of showing disapproval of somebody or something and opinions about their fault is what is called criticism. It is in mans nature to render instant judgment on fellow man's action or idea. In public places, the fear of criticism hinders some people from making contributions that can be of great value. This fear robs man of his initiatives, destroys his power of imagination and takes away his self reliance, planting resentment in his heart.

Sickness - Man fears sickness because of the ugly and terrible pictures which have been plated in his mind of what may happen if sickness strikes. Sometimes, it may be the fear of the finance which the sickness may claim.

Loss of love - It is in man's mature to love and to wish to be loved and cherished. It is also in man's nature to think of the possibility of losing the love and affection of a beloved. With time, jealousy and other similar neurosis grow out of this fear. Women are more susceptible to this type of fear than men.

Old age - There are people who fear old age as if it is a curse. Three major categories of people fear old age: The first category are those who think that old age leads to loss of beauty, relevance, sexual power etc. To them, old age brings about abandonment by people. Most of the people that fall into this category are public figures like actors/actresses, musicians, politicians etc.
